From 1972-2004 David worked in Mercer Human Resource Consulting and its predecessor companies. David was directly involved in growing Mercer in to the world's leading supplier of HR consulting services. This culminated in David being appointed Chairman and CEO, a position he held from 1996 to 2004. Recognised as a leader in the global HR services market David has unparalleled experience of creating significant, formidable HR businesses.
David is also currently Deputy Chairman of the Trustee Board of the BT Pension Scheme, the largest in the UK. In addition, he is also Chairman of the P&O Pension Scheme and non-executive director of Hermes Fund Management Limited, a compensation advisor to Dunnhumby and an adjunct professor of Imperial College Business School.
David graduated from Imperial college, University of London in 1970 with a first class honours degree in mathematics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
