Rejoining Chemistry in October 2009 Colin is responsible for helping our clients fulfil their critical hire requirements through the sourcing and assessment of high calibre individuals.

Following graduation from University in Nottingham with a 2:1 in Sport Science, he initially joined Chemistry on the graduate program in January 2004.  After an enjoyable 18 months he decided to experience the wider recruitment world and joined the executive search firm, Capitis Partners, as a consultant working on senior appointments in the retail and leisure sectors.  In this role he was charged with delivering an end to end search process, delivering on many high profile assignments in businesses ranging from the FTSE 100 to start ups.

Colin is now focussed on taking the best of the traditional search process and combining it with Chemistry's unique assessment tools to aid the business in changing the industry for the better and continuing to over deliver to our clients.

Improving Performance

Focuses the processes and work of organisation on adding value to the customer. This involves the ongoing measurement of product or service characteristics (e.g., customer satisfaction) and the systematic setting, achievement and upgrading of stretching but realistic performance improvement targets. The people actually doing the work receive regular information and use this feedback to improve the performance of the team or unit over time.

Gathering Information

Colin searches a broad range of information from the external environment. E.g., information about new technological developments or relevant economic, political, social and demographic trends or the practices of comparable organisations or competitors. Colin seeks both objective and subjective information. He does not engage in complex decision making without a broad, rich information search.

Processing Information

When making a decision Colin always compares merits of two or more realistic alternatives, by stating the pros and cons of each. Colin may create over-arching plan or strategy as a result of this analysis that maximises the benefits and minimises the downsides of the original options. Colin manages solution comparison as a core part of solution development.
