Catherine Adam
Lead Consultant
“Can't believe it. Putting the heating back on after it's summer break :0( Is that really the summer over and done with?”
Catherine draws on a wealth of talent management experience gained from her rich career in business. In her early years Cath set up and ran a graduate recruitment company, learning valuable lessons about business and people in equal measure.
At Glotel plc, as the European Internal Recruitment and HR manager, she set up the HR function from scratch. She then hired teams across Europe, opened offices in new countries and ran a significant, challenging company wide redundancy programme across 4 countries. Cath made sure that she delivered the business outcome, saving money in the process, and also that the people leaving had a dignified exit and left feeling good about the company.
As Talent Manger and HR Business Partner at Energis Communications she helped build the team that turned a loss making, bankrupt global telecommunications company in to a roaring success. Energis was sold to Cable & Wireless after the team Cath recruited had turned it round, creating nearly £1Bn of shareholder value. On the journey, Cath built the new appraisal and personal development processes that kept the management team on track and motivated during the exhausting process of turning round a big company.
At Chemistry Cath has extensive experience of leading large scale change programmes with blue chip organisations such as Disney, LexisNexis and Yell. At Disney she ran a programme that answered the question, "how can it be that we have the 7th biggest brand in the world, but we are struggling to recruit and retain Disney Store managers?!" The answer included Chemistry building a whole new approach to evaluating what great store managers needed to look like and implementing a new process for finding and selecting those people accurately every time.
Cath is one of our most passionate people. She is driven to ensuring that people's capabilities are developed to the full and that real business value is created in the process.
